How to Move an Opportunity Along the Pipeline

This article explains how to move an Opportunity to another stage in the Capital Raise pipeline.

Often while running a capital raise, you will need to advance an Opportunity along the Pipeline โ€” especially if you have added custom stages in a pipeline.

InvestNext Pipeline Stages:

InvestNext dynamically moves the prospective investor (Opportunity) along the pipeline for certain stages of the pipeline, but for other stages, you will need to move the Opportunity manually.

The following stages of the pipeline are always managed automatically by the system. These stages cannot be deleted or renamed:

  • Stage: Committed: A commitment has been entered.

  • Stage: Paperwork Completed: All e-signature requests (documents) have been completed, including the counter-signature.

  • Stage: Funded: Funds have been recorded as received.*

*The Opportunity will remain in the Committed status until all documents have been completed regardless of funding status.

IMPORTANT: Pipelines in the Fundraising section can be viewed as a Grid or as a Pipeline by clicking on the button for the respective view.

Manually Advance an Opportunity to Another Stage in the Pipeline

STEP 1: Navigate to the Fundraising section and click on the Opportunities tab:

STEP 2: Click into an Opportunity and scroll down to the Stage section. You'll see a dropdown containing all stages:

STEP 3: You can use update the Stage of the Opportunity by:

  • Option 1: Use the dropdown to can select the Stage you would like place the Opportunity into.

  • Option 2: Update the Opportunity stage directly by clicking on the Stage's chevron and then clicking Update to This Stage button:
