Opportunity pipelines can help you visualize the steps taken to move your investors along each stage of a Capital Raise. InvestNext pipelines allow you to customize and add the stages as defined by your organization's process.

In this article, the following topics are covered:

Overview of the Opportunity Pipelines

When you are setting up a new capital raise, you will be asked which pipeline you would like to use during the capital raise. The Default Pipeline will be available before you create custom pipelines.

To view the stages of a pipeline:

  1. Go to the Gear settings

  2. Click on Pipelines:

3. Click the Edit icon to edit an existing pipeline

4. Click +NEW PIPELINE button to add a new pipeline

Pipeline Stages

In InvestNext, some stages of the pipeline are managed automatically by the system. These stages cannot be deleted or renamed:

  • Stage: Committing: A commitment has been entered and e-signature documents have been completed, including the counter-signature.

  • Stage: Complete: Funds have been recorded as received.*

*The Opportunity will remain in the Committing status until all documents have been completed regardless of funding status.

You can add additional stages to the pipelines which can also be edited.

The Default Pipeline

To see the stages of the default pipeline:

STEP 1: Click on the Edit icon for the Default pipeline:

STEP 2: The Default Pipeline will display:

NOTE: All capital raises will add the default pipeline unless you have created another pipeline and choose it during the capital raise set up workflow.

How to Customize a Pipeline

You may want to add user-defined stages to a pipeline which reflect the steps you and your team use to fill your pipeline and complete commitments.

What are User-defined Stages?

User-defined stages allow you to add pipeline stages that help you and your team see where an Opportunity (Investor) is the commitment process.

For example: you might add a user-defined stage named Reviewed PPM in a custom pipeline:

Once added, you can view all the Opportunities in the Reviewed PPM from the Capital Raise's Opportunities tab:

How to Add a Custom Pipeline Stage

STEP 1: Go to the Gear settings.

STEP 2: Click on Pipelines:

STEP 3: Click on the Edit icon for the pipeline you wish to add a new stage to:

STEP 4: Click the + icon by the stage you wish to add the additional stage before:

STEP 5: Enter the name for the new pipeline stage and click Create Pipeline Stage.

STEP 6: Click on the 3 dots by the Stage name to:

  • Edit Name: Rename the Stage

  • Edit Stage ID: Optional step

  • Move Left: Move the Stage Left

  • Move Right: Move the Stage Right

  • Delete: Remove the Stage

How to Add a Suggested Task to a Pipeline Stage

Under each Pipeline Stage, you can add a Suggested Task or Tasks. When an Opportunity is moved into that Pipeline Stage, the task will be automatically assigned to that Opportunity.

STEP 1: Click on + Add Suggested Task, just below the Pipeline Stage.

STEP 2: Enter the Task Title, Task Notes and Default days until due and click Create Suggested Task to add the task to the Stage.

**Notes are synced between Opportunities and the primary contact. A note can be deleted by navigating to the origin note and then deleting it.

STEP 3: The new task will show under the Pipeline Stage:
