Associate an IRA/SDIRA Custodian to an Investing Account

How to associate a Custodian Account to an Investing Account for receiving payments

If an investment account such as an IRA/SDIRA is managed by a Custodian, you can associate that Custodian with the Investor's Account in a few simple steps. Any future distribution payments will be sent to the Custodian associated with the Account.

NOTE: If the Custodian is not set up in InvestNext, use this article to set up the Custodian Account first.


Step 1. Navigate to the Account page of the Investing Account that you want to add a Custodian to. Click on the 3 verticle ellipses, then click on 'Edit Custodian(s)':

Step 2. A pop-up will appear. Choose the Custodian you would like to associate with the Account.

NOTE: The "Custodian account reference" is the account number issued/provided by the Custodian for the IRA/SDIRA Account. When sending a distribution payment to the Custodian, this number will be printed on the check and used for processing.

Step 3. Once you've clicked 'Save Changes', take a moment to review the Account! Below is an example of how the Investor’s Account page will now look:
