What is a Co-Sponsor?
The term co-sponsor at InvestNext refers to the collaboration between two or more sponsors where they can individually contribute to achieving an overall fundraising goal! Co-sponsors can have various roles and responsibilities, depending on the agreement between the parties involved.
Co-sponsorship can be used in many different types of programs, from fundraising activities to business ventures, and can provide multiple benefits to all parties involved. The most common benefits include access to a larger market or customer base, access to additional resources or expertise, and the pooling of resources to achieve a larger goal.

Co-Sponsors .vs. Lead Sponsors
With co-sponsorship, there is often one sponsor who will take on a “lead” role in the partnership. This person or company will typically have the majority of the responsibilities as well as access to the capital raise. The other sponsors involved are typically designated as “co-sponsors” whose access to the capital raise can be adjusted based on the partnership arrangement.
Co-sponsors have a valuable role to play when it comes to fundraising events and activities, as they can help share in the burden of the responsibility while still taking part in the project's success.
As the lead sponsor, you'll have the majority of the responsibilities and access to the capital raise, and then there will be co-sponsors whose access to the capital raise can be adjusted based on the partnership! 🙂 Check out the different co-sponsor access levels below:
