Canceling an investor's Commitment is relatively easy and quick to do! The steps below demonstrate how a Sponsor can cancel/delete an investor's Commitment from the Portal.

For steps to delete an Investors Opportunity page, please view the Related Articles linked at the bottom of this page.

NOTE: If the Investor has already signed some or all of the Documents associated with the Commitment, those Documents will automatically be deleted too.

A sponsor also has the option to Withdraw a commitment, if it is funded, which will store the commitment data but remove the investor's commitment amounts from your capital raise totals. You can learn more about Withdrawing Commitments here.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Step 1) Navigate to 'Capital Raises' in the main menu of your Portal:

Step 2) Select the Capital Raise the commitment is associated with from your list of Capital Raises:

Step 3) Click on the Commitments tab within the Capital Raise and select the commitment that needs to be canceled:

Step 4) Click on the 'Cancel' button:

IMPORTANT: The Cancel button will not appear if the Investor has already sent funds. To verify if funds were sent, view the 'Funding Detail' folder in the Commitment (shown above).

TO PROCEED: If the funds were manually recorded as received, you'll need to first delete the investment from the Investors "Positions" page. Please view this article for instructions on how to complete this step.

Sponsors can cancel commitments with failed ACH transfer attached, as long as the funds were not successfully processed within the portal.

Step 5) Click on the 'Cancel Commitment' button to confirm:
