Occasionally, you may need to mark a investment as withdrawn when the investor backs out of the opportunity after they have fully funded it.

When that happens, you can use the Withdrawal function in the Commitment to change the Commitment to $0 and automatically transfer the Units back to Treasury so they can be used by another investor.

NOTE: The Commitment must be fully funded. If a partially-funded Commitment is clicked into, the Withdrawal button will not display.

IMPORTANT: A withdrawn Commitment will have a Position in the Project with a $0 capital balance.

The Commitment itself cannot be Cancelled.

If you would prefer to Cancel the Commitment (or have a partially funded Commitment which cannot be withdrawn), please use the links at the bottom of this article to show you how to Cancel the Commitment.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Use the steps below to Withdraw an Investor's funded Commitment:

Step 1. Navigate to 'Fundraising' in the Portals Main Menu.

Step 2. Click into the Opportunity of the investor who is withdrawing their commitment:

Step 3. Click on the Commitment to show the Commitment Details:

Step 4. Click the 'Withdrawal' button and confirm the withdrawal by typing "withdraw" as directed. This will successfully withdraw the commitment.

IMPORTANT: Withdrawal is a permanent action.

When the commitment is withdrawn:

  • The Commitment amount is set to zero.

  • The units are automatically transferred to Treasury and are reflected in the Position detail of a given account.

IMPORTANT: The investor will still have a Position in the Project. The investor's Position will have a Capital Balance of $0 and the Units will show as transferred to Treasury with a negative balance:
