Updates are an awesome tool to utilize to educate and notify your investors of upcoming or recent changes, distributions, refinances, renovations, etc., relating to your project! Updates live directly in the investor's InvestNext portal, but they will receive a notification email that they have a new update to check whenever one is published!
Steps to Create an Update:
STEP 1. Navigate to the 'Communications' in your Portal's Main Menu. Then click '+ New' and 'Portal Update':
STEP 2: Here you will be able to create a new Update which you can share with your investors on their Investor Portal! You can embed videos, attach photos and documents, create tables, and customize formatting when creating an Update!
STEP 3: Once you've completed drafting the Update, click 'Create Draft':
TIP: You can attach any documents/files after this step is completed! There's a note indicating this at the bottom of the page: "You can add file attachments and images after saving your draft".
STEP 4. (OPTIONAL) If you'd like to add any documents/files to the Update, you can upload PDFs and .Zip Files as "Attachments" by clicking the 'Upload' button:
STEP 5. Once your Update is complete, click 'Publish' to send out the Update to investors in the selected audience:
TIP: If the "Enable New Update Notifications" setting is enabled in your Investor Portal 'Access' settings:
Once you 'Publish' the Update, your investors will receive an email notification that there has recently been a new Update added to their Investor Portal.

IMPORTANT: Why are there both "Associated with..." and "Selected Audience" options for Updates?

In Updates, you can one or both of these options depending on who you wish to share the Update with.
For example: The sponsor would like investors of "XYZ Project" to receive an early update about a new opportunity.
Selecting Select Audience, XYZ Project and NOT associating to any project would serve this purpose.
Select Audience:
You can use both Project Filters and User-created Filters in the 'Select Audience' field:
When using a Project Filter, only investors with an active Position in a Project will receive this Update.
Sometimes sponsors may have a project update that is applicable to others that have an interest in the project, but no Position in it. Using a custom User-Created Filter that has those investors included will allow them to see the Update as well.
Associated with...
Adding a Project in the 'Associated with...' field will also prompt the system to show the "Share" button for any Projects/Capital Raises that have Co-Sponsors linked to them.
Update Notifications to Investors
Our "Consolidated Portal Updates" feature allows sponsors to choose if they want Update email notifications consolidated rather than an individual email notification per Update published. The settings for this feature can be found within the 'Advanced Settings' tab (located within the General Settings).
Email notifications within InvestNext are sent hourly between the hours of 7 AM to 10 PM EST.
STEP 1. Navigate to the General Settings (gear icon). Then to the 'Advanced Settings' tab:
STEP 2. Under the 'Advanced Portal Update Settings' section, select the email notification option you'd prefer for your investors:
