Mass Upload Commitment Documents

This article explains how to mass upload and privately share documents with your investors.

Updated this week

InvestNext has a document-sharing tool that enables you to upload commitment documents and other investor-specific documents in-mass and share these documents with each investor.

The tool reads the contents of the document and intelligently matches it to the specific investor — even when the contents do not exactly match the investor name in the platform.

Before Getting Started: You must create a .zip file containing the individual documents you wish to share. For each document, ensure it contains the investor (Account) name. The name may not exactly match the Account name in InvestNext, however, it should be close to the Account name.

To watch a video walkthrough, go to the bottom of this article here.

STEP 1. Navigate to the Project for which you want to mass upload documents. Once you are in the Project, navigate to the Documents tab.

STEP 2. Click the + Upload Files button on the upper-right of the screen and select the Multi File .zip Upload option.

STEP 3. Add the .Zip file that contains your documents and click the Upload button:

STEP 4: Choose a Name for this upload. This will be the name given to the new folder containing the set of documents you wish to share. Then select the relevant Document type.

IMPORTANT: If you are attempting to upload Tax Documents, you'll want to use this support article which will provide several different steps.

NOTE: The upload and matching should take no more than a few minutes. However, if you are uploading a large volume of documents, it may take a bit longer. A 'progress status' indicator displays in a small box at the bottom of your screen:

STEP 5. Go to the folder you added the documents too.

STEP 6. Review the documents and the associated accounts to verify that the match is correct.

  1. If you need to change the Account a document is associated with, hover over the document name to highlight the line item. 3 dots will display.

  2. Right click over the 3 dots to show this popup:

3. Use Set Account Association to select the correct account if needed.

STEP 7. After verifying all documents are associated to the correct Accounts, select all the documents and click the Portal Access dropdown:

Select Enable Portal Access to allow the appropriate documents to display on each investor's portal view.

NOTE: New Document Notifications
When a document is Shared (Enable Portal Access), an email notification will go out within the hour to the investors that have a registered account on your investor portal. The notification is only sent once. If you re-share the document, this will not trigger another notification.
