1. Automatically Create CRM Contacts from InvestNext Form Submissions

Create new CRM contacts automatically whenever someone submits a form in InvestNext.

Updated this week

What This Automation Does

This automation creates a new contact in your CRM whenever someone submits a form in InvestNext. It helps ensure new leads, investors, or contacts are captured immediately in your CRM without manual data entry, so your team can follow up faster and more consistently.

When You Should Use This

Use this automation if you:

  • Collect lead or investor information using InvestNext forms

  • Use a CRM (e.g., HubSpot or GoHighLevel) to manage contacts and follow-ups

  • Want to eliminate manual copying of form submission data

  • Need faster visibility into new submissions for sales or investor relations teams

How the Automation Works

At a high level, this automation follows three simple steps:

  1. A form is submitted in InvestNext

  2. Zapier captures the form submission details

  3. A new contact is created in your CRM using the submitted information

Step-by-Step Setup Instructions

Step 1: Create a New Zap in Zapier

Log in to Zapier and click Create Zap to start a new automation.

Step 2: Configure the InvestNext Trigger

  1. Select InvestNext (4.0) as the trigger app

  2. Choose Form Submission as the trigger event

  3. Connect your InvestNext account if prompted

  4. Test the trigger to pull in a sample form submission

Output Data

Below is an example of the data output from a form submission.

Step 3: Configure the CRM Action

  1. Select your CRM (for example, HubSpot) as the action app

  2. Choose Create Contact as the action event

  3. Connect your CRM account if prompted

Step 4: Map Form Fields to CRM Contact Fields

Configure the Zapier Action by mapping the fields from the InvestNext form to the appropriate contact fields in your CRM.

At a minimum, we recommend mapping:

  • Email Address β†’ Email (required by most CRMs)

  • First Name β†’ First Name

  • Last Name β†’ Last Name

You can also map any additional fields collected on the form, such as phone number, company name, custom fields, etc. See this article for Customizing the InvestNext Form.

Step 5: Test and Publish the Zap

  1. Run a test to confirm the contact is created successfully in your CRM

  2. Review the created contact for accuracy

  3. Turn the Zap On once everything looks correct

Common Issues & Troubleshooting

Contacts are not being created

  • Confirm the Zap is turned on

  • Check that required fields (especially email) are mapped

  • Review the Zap run history in Zapier for errors

Duplicate contacts are created

  • Enable duplicate detection or update logic within your CRM

  • Adjust the Zap to find and update existing contacts instead of always creating new ones

Notes & Limitations

  • This automation runs in one direction only (InvestNext β†’ CRM)

  • Form submissions are processed in near real-time, but slight delays may occur

  • Field availability depends on the fields included in your InvestNext form
