What This Automation Does
This automation creates a new contact in InvestNext whenever a new contact is added to your CRM. It helps ensure your investor records stay synchronized across systems and eliminates the need to manually re-enter contact information.
By automatically syncing CRM contacts into InvestNext, your team can maintain a single, consistent set of investor data while continuing to use your CRM for lead and relationship management.
When You Should Use This
Use this automation if you:
Create or manage contacts in your CRM before adding them to InvestNext
Use your CRM as the primary source of lead or investor data
Want to eliminate manual data entry between systems
Need new CRM contacts to be available in InvestNext quickly
What You’ll Need Before You Start
Before setting up this automation, make sure you have:
An active InvestNext account
A Zapier account
A connected CRM account (such as HubSpot)
Permission to create contacts in InvestNext
Permission to access contacts in your CRM
How the Automation Works
At a high level, this automation follows three steps:
A new contact is created in your CRM
Zapier detects the new contact
A corresponding contact record is created in InvestNext
This ensures contact data flows automatically from your CRM into InvestNext.
Step-by-Step Setup Instructions
Step 1: Create a New Zap in Zapier
Log in to Zapier and click Create Zap to begin building a new automation.
Step 2: Configure the CRM Trigger
Select your CRM (for example, HubSpot) as the trigger app
Choose New Contact as the trigger event
Connect your CRM account if prompted
Test the trigger to pull in a sample contact
This test will allow you to map fields later in the setup process.
Step 3: Configure the InvestNext Action
Select InvestNext 4.0 as the action app
Choose Create Contact as the action event
Connect your InvestNext account if prompted
This step tells Zapier to create a new contact in InvestNext whenever a CRM contact is created.
Step 4: Map CRM Fields to InvestNext Contact Fields
Map the fields from your CRM contact to the corresponding fields in InvestNext.
At a minimum map the following fields are required:
First Name
Last Name
Email Address
During this stage, you have two additional options.
Send Invite to Investor Portal (Auto-Invite)
Update Existing Contact Record
Step 5: Test and Turn On the Zap
Run a test to create a sample contact in InvestNext
Confirm the contact appears correctly in InvestNext
Turn the Zap On once everything looks correct
Your automation will now run automatically whenever a new CRM contact is created.
Common Issues & Troubleshooting
Contacts are not appearing in InvestNext
Confirm the Zap is turned on
Verify the CRM trigger is detecting new contacts
Check the Zapier run history for errors
Contact creation fails
Ensure required fields such as email, first name, and last name are mapped correctly
Confirm your InvestNext account connection is active in Zapier
Notes & Limitations
This automation runs in one direction only (CRM → InvestNext)
Contacts created directly in InvestNext will not sync back to your CRM unless a separate automation is configured
Zap run timing may vary slightly depending on your Zapier plan
