Keep investor compliance information current by syncing KYC status updates from InvestNext to your CRM.

Updated this week

What This Automation Does

This automation updates an existing deal in your CRM whenever an investor’s KYC (Know Your Customer) status changes in InvestNext. It helps ensure your CRM reflects the latest compliance progress without requiring manual updates.

By syncing KYC updates to your CRM, your team can monitor investor verification status alongside deal activity and maintain accurate records across systems.

When You Should Use This

Use this automation if you:

  • Manage investor onboarding and compliance through InvestNext

  • Track investor progress or deal activity in a CRM such as HubSpot

  • Want your CRM to reflect the latest investor KYC status automatically

  • Need better visibility into investor verification progress within your CRM

What You’ll Need Before You Start

Before setting up this automation, make sure you have:

  • An active InvestNext account

  • A Zapier account

  • A connected CRM account (such as HubSpot)

  • CRM deals that correspond to InvestNext opportunities

  • A field in your CRM that stores the InvestNext Opportunity ID used to match records

How the Automation Works

At a high level, this automation follows three steps:

  1. An investor’s KYC status is updated in InvestNext

  2. Zapier detects the KYC update

  3. The corresponding deal in your CRM is located and updated

This ensures your CRM reflects the latest investor compliance status associated with each opportunity.

Step-by-Step Setup Instructions

Step 1: Create a New Zap in Zapier

Log in to Zapier and click Create Zap to start building the automation.

Step 2: Configure the InvestNext Trigger

  1. Select InvestNext 4.0 as the trigger app

  2. Choose KYC Update as the trigger event

  3. Connect your InvestNext account if prompted

  4. Test the trigger to retrieve a sample KYC update

Testing the trigger allows Zapier to pull example data used for field mapping later.

Output Data

Below is an example of the data output from a KYC Update. The Opportunity ID will be used as the unique identifier for updating respective stages in your deal pipeline.

Status will be one of three possible values:

  • Created

  • Accepted

  • Denied

Step 3: Add a Filter for Accepted KYC's

In this step, a Filter by Zapier is added before proceeding to the additional steps in the automation. I'm filtering for Accepted KYC's.

Step 4: Find the Matching CRM Deal

  1. Select your CRM (for example, HubSpot) as the action app

  2. Choose Find Deal as the action event

  3. Configure the search to locate the deal using the InvestNext Opportunity ID

This step ensures the correct deal is identified before applying updates.

Step 5: Update the CRM Deal with KYC Information

  1. Add another action step in Zapier

  2. Select your CRM again as the action app

  3. Choose Update Deal as the action event

  4. Update the Deal Stage to KYC Complete

Step 6: Test and Turn On the Zap

  1. Run a test to update a sample deal in your CRM

  2. Confirm the updated KYC information appears correctly

  3. Turn the Zap On once everything looks correct

After activation, KYC updates in InvestNext will automatically sync to the corresponding CRM deal.

Common Issues & Troubleshooting

Deals are not being updated

  • Confirm the Zap is turned on

  • Verify the CRM deal contains the correct InvestNext Opportunity ID

  • Review Zapier run history for errors

KYC fields are not updating correctly

  • Confirm the correct KYC fields are mapped during setup

  • Re-test the Zap using a recent KYC update from InvestNext

Notes & Limitations

  • The CRM deal must contain the InvestNext Opportunity ID to match records correctly

  • Zap processing time may vary slightly depending on your Zapier plan
