This automation updates an existing deal in your CRM whenever an investor’s accreditation status changes in InvestNext. It ensures your CRM reflects the most current accreditation information without requiring manual updates.
By syncing accreditation updates to your CRM, your team can track investor eligibility and compliance progress alongside deal activity and fundraising efforts.

How the Automation Works
At a high level, this automation follows three steps:
An investor’s accreditation status is created or updated in InvestNext
Zapier detects the accreditation update
The matching deal in your CRM is found and updated
This ensures your CRM reflects the latest accreditation status associated with each opportunity.
Step-by-Step Setup Instructions
Step 1: Create a New Zap in Zapier
Log in to Zapier and click Create Zap to start building the automation.
Step 2: Configure the InvestNext Trigger
Select InvestNext 4.0 as the trigger app
Choose Accreditation Created or Updated as the trigger event
Connect your InvestNext account if prompted
Test the trigger to retrieve a sample accreditation update
Testing the trigger allows Zapier to pull example data that will be used for field mapping.
Output Data
Below is an example of the data output from an Accreditation Created or Updated. The Opportunity ID will be used as the unique identifier for updating respective stages in your pipeline.
Step 3: Find the Matching CRM Deal
Select your CRM (for example, HubSpot) as the action app
Choose Find Deal as the action event
Configure the search to locate the deal using the InvestNext Opportunity ID
This step ensures the correct deal is located before applying updates.
Step 4: Update the CRM Deal with Accreditation Information
Add another action step in Zapier
Select your CRM again as the action app
Choose Update Deal as the action event
Update the Deal Stage to Accredited
Step 5: Test and Turn On the Zap
Run a test to update a sample deal in your CRM
Confirm the accreditation information appears correctly in the deal record
Turn the Zap On once everything looks correct
After activation, accreditation updates in InvestNext will automatically update the corresponding CRM deal in the pipeline.
Required Field Mapping
To ensure the correct deal is updated, the following fields should be mapped:
InvestNext Opportunity ID → CRM field used to locate the deal
Accreditation Status → CRM accreditation or compliance field
Common Issues & Troubleshooting
Deals are not being updated
Confirm the Zap is turned on
Verify the CRM deal contains the correct InvestNext Opportunity ID
Review Zapier run history for errors
Accreditation fields are not updating correctly
Confirm the correct accreditation fields are mapped during setup
Re-test the Zap using a recent accreditation update from InvestNext
Notes & Limitations
This automation updates deals associated with InvestNext opportunities
The CRM deal must contain the InvestNext Opportunity ID to match records correctly
